Woodstock, Cape Town is home to an island of pure Caribbean delight called ‘JAMAICA ME CRAZY!’
The restaurant has the perfect atmosphere to have a good time with loved ones while enjoying some great food and drinks.
The menus vary from fresh and light salads to easy burgers and pizza, even something from the grill. The restaurant offers healthy, home-style cooking. Their Caribbean specialties include Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Crazy Goat Curry and Chicken & Chorizo Jambalaya. Vegetarians are also very well catered for: Mo’ Bay Mushrooms, Trinidad Roti or Marley’s Rasta Bun. Their drinks list also has quite a variety to choose from. They have a ‘Home Bru Premium Lager’, which is becoming a favourite amongst their customers. I thoroughly enjoy a good cocktail and I should add that they make a mouth-watering Strawberry Daiquiri and Cosmopolitan. Their cocktail happy hours offer a range of selected cocktails at only R18.
The environment is not only cosy but also very relaxing. There are log fires for cold and rainy days or nights. Their seating plan is very comfortable with booths as well as tables and chairs. So they cater for every mood.
The set-up is open-planned but has a window separating outdoors from indoors. The background music is mostly reggae, which also contributes to the relaxing vibe and Caribbean atmosphere.
There is an upstairs balcony with sweeping views of the ocean and surrounding mountain. Personally, I would consider that as the ideal spot to sit and just soak up the sun on a lovely summer’s day.
If the great food and wine list isn’t enough to take in, they even cater for functions and occasions such as corporate, social, birthdays and theme parties.
The friendly staff makes you feel very welcome and allows you to have an awesome stay. Jamaica Me Crazy is definitely a place to add to your bucket list.
